The Faculty of Global Studies at Sophia University will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2024.
To commemorate this milestone, the Faculty of Global Studies, and the FGS Alumni Association, will host a 10th Anniversary Event.
We warmly invite current students, alumni to the FGS to join us for this special occasion!
Dear alumni of the Faculty of Global Studies, both those of you who are currently deepening your studies and those who have already graduated and are gaining experiences in your respective fields, why not join us for the alumni reunion?
Our new faculty, which was envisioned in 2012 and opened in 2014, has reached its 10th anniversary milestone.
For you, your time at the university was but a chapter in the long story of your lives, a passing moment.
Yet, for the faculty, continuously challenging the new field of Global Studies, you are the leaves that grow, the flowers that bloom, and the fruits that eventually come to fruition.
Let us reconnect from time to time and feel the vibrancy of the diverse leaves, flowers, and fruits as they flourish, and witness how our faculty has grown into a mighty tree.
We look forward to seeing you.

It's been a little over three years since I retired.
Looking back, I remember the days of tension when I took on the role of department head ten years ago, knowing that failure was not an option. I recall the entrance exams, entrance ceremonies, orientation camps, course registrations, seminar applications, study abroad programs, regular exams, grade evaluations, and graduation ceremonies—all the milestones where I interacted with the students. There were also many times when I spent considerable time in individual meetings.
I believe that all of you have been thriving in various fields since your graduation. Perhaps you find yourself thinking more about the present and future than the past.
However, since this is the 10th anniversary, it might not be a bad idea to take a moment to look back. I hope to take this opportunity to meet many of you, hear about your recent experiences, and absorb some of your youthful energy to fuel my own future growth.
I look forward to seeing you.

The Faculty of Global Studies celebrated its 10th anniversary this April, having been established in 2014. The presence of our faculty is already widely recognized by high schools and prospective students. However, what truly matters is the next ten years.
The social evaluation of our faculty will solidify in earnest as our graduates take on central roles in various companies and organizations in the years to come.
The efforts of our graduates will support the continued development of our faculty.
To support these efforts, we strongly desire the growth of our alumni association as a place to reaffirm the bonds between the faculty and its graduates, and as a venue where graduates can easily connect and interact with each other.
As a faculty member, I will continue to walk alongside all of you. Please feel free to drop by when you are near Yotsuya.

This March, we sent off our brilliant graduates, and just a week later, on April 1st, we welcomed new students. I wondered how these newcomers would grow and envisioned their transformation over the next four years.
Before I knew it, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Global Studies. On this occasion, I encourage all of you who have graduated from FGS to connect with each other, regardless of your graduation year or field of study.
Please share your various experiences from university life and your journey into society with the current students. These diverse connections are one of the treasures of FGS.

We are delighted to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Global Studies.
Over the past decade, the Faculty of Global Studies has produced talented individuals who have made significant contributions across various fields. We are immensely pleased to see an increasing number of our graduates thriving in diverse arenas such as domestic and international corporations, international organizations, NGOs, and research institutions.
The greatest strength of the Faculty of Global Studies lies in the diversity and individuality of its faculty, graduates, and students. Each member has continuously pursued unique challenges, resulting in a rich and diverse community.
As an alumni association, we have adopted the theme "Varietas delectat" (Diversity delights) and will continue to serve as a bridge between our diverse graduates and between the faculty, students, and alumni. By doing so, we aim to contribute to the ongoing development of both the faculty and its alumni. We kindly ask for the continued support of our graduates.
This event, under the theme "Our Roots, Our Future," aims to reflect on the origins of the Faculty of Global Studies and your own beginnings, while also creating connections for the future. Please gather in the classrooms where we once studied, to reconnect with cherished professors and friends, and to form new connections.
In closing, we extend our heartfelt wishes for the continued happiness and success of the esteemed faculty, graduates, and students of the Faculty of Global Studies.

Design with a dynamic vision for the future
It has been 10 years since the establishment of FGS. The logo for this event is designed to reflect a sense of movement towards the future, symbolizing our hope for a successful event and the continued growth of FGS.
You might have noticed that the number zero (0) in the logo represents the "Globe," a key characteristic of FGS. Moreover, the center of the globe depicts Pangaea, the origin of all continents. Since FGS studies encompass all regions, we have made sure not to favor any specific area. This approach resonates with the theme of the event. Cherish the "origins" you have learned at FGS and continue to envision the future.
